The day I chose this month’s question to explore it was Valentine’s Day, Aptly the card I randomly chose has a photo of a beautiful yellow rose from my garden (for those of you with the Hidden Artist Quest Card Deck, it’s card 29. If you don't have a deck yet click on the link to check it out).
Today, as I sit committed to delivering my blog post this month, with 3 hrs and 15 minutes before the calendar turns it’s page to the new month, the planets are aligned in a rare celestial event. It may sound like a cliché but 7 planets are actually aligned in the sky tonight; 7 planets with 7 energies and 7 levels of consciousness calling us to climb the cosmic ladder, declare our purpose, set our intentions, play big and step into clarity, power and action.
(Add the earth into the mix and you get 8,∞, infinity. If you want to deep dive into the woo of this celestial event, check this out)
This day of planetary alignment is a perfect day to answer the question on the back of this yellow rose image, “what do you really care about?” I love this values question, doing a deep dive into values is one of my most treasured processes I engage with my clients on. So often we are on auto-pilot, operating on demand signals from so many things outside of us as well as old stories we hold deep within. If we can get truly aligned with what really matters to us, we can then create our own internal planetary alignment from there we can consciously create our lives. This inner knowing is a super power that gives the gift of resonance and so much more.
Last week I was at a dinner with 2 brilliant women I work with. At one point one of them said, “I have 9 meetings tomorrow!” Overwhelm seeped in amongst the light camaraderie around brussel sprouts and french fries. The heaviness of the “have to” sat on her shoulders like a bag of bricks. I asked if there were any meetings that she could just not attend. The answer to that question sat inside the box of the question I had been pondering since I picked it on February 14th, “what do you really care about?” I asked a version of this and what I witnessed was an energetic shift from overwhelm to the calm resolve that comes when action is aligned with purpose and meaning. The answer was, that what is important is supporting my team and she realized that that’s what the meetings were all about. When the activity (meetings) were aligned with a value (supporting my team) overwhelm quickly dissipated. However, often our time or activity isn’t aligned with what we really care about (sometimes because we haven’t really thought about what we really care about in a meaningful way) and there we stay in dissonance with dissatisfaction and frustration taking center stage.
So, what do you really care about? Pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. Did you do it? If not, back up. Pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. Now look around your current space. What does it tell you about what matters to you? What have you done in the last 24 hours? What does that say about what you care about? Pull back, open the lens wider, look at where you choose to live, your home, your work what do these things say about what’s important to you? Narrow the lens, look inside your bedside table drawer, your closet, your calendar for next week – what do they say about what you really care about? Look inside your friendships… your vacations…your family time…your spending…your savings…You haven’t taken a vacation you say? Put that in the mix, what do you get? Now think about your best vacation ever, your peak moments in your life, at work, the moments that if there was music in the background you would be singing and dancing with complete joy knowing everything is just perfect. What do these moments tell you about what you really care about? Meditate on it, journal on it, make your list, check your alignment regularly.
The planets aligned tonight. They are calling us to get aligned. What do you really care about? Does your physical space, use of time, money and energy align? If not, my card pull for this month and the planets have opened up space for you to jump onto the bigger playing field of aligned action – resonance and ease await you – looking forward to seeing you there!
